GLOSSARY / Honeypot
What is Honeypot?
A decoy system designed to attract and study attackers.
Honeypots have no legitimate use, so any interaction is suspicious — making them high-signal detection tools and a source of fresh threat intelligence. Honeynets are networks of honeypots.
They help defenders learn attacker techniques and IOCs.
