GLOSSARY / Data Breach
What is Data Breach?
An incident where confidential data is accessed or disclosed without authorization.
Breaches expose credentials, personal data, or intellectual property through hacking, misconfiguration, insider action, or lost devices. Leaked credentials fuel further attacks like credential stuffing.
Regulations (GDPR, CCPA) mandate disclosure within set timeframes.
