GLOSSARY / Computer Worm
What is Computer Worm?
Self-replicating malware that spreads across networks without user interaction.
Unlike viruses, worms do not need to attach to a host file — they exploit vulnerabilities to copy themselves to new systems automatically. WannaCry and Conficker caused global damage this way.
Worms can saturate networks and deliver additional payloads like ransomware.
