GLOSSARY / Backdoor
What is Backdoor?
A hidden method of bypassing normal authentication to access a system.
Backdoors can be planted by malware, inserted into source code (supply-chain attacks), or left by developers. They give attackers persistent, covert re-entry.
Web shells are a common backdoor on compromised servers.
