A LIBRARY FOR SECURITY RESEARCHERS

ABOUT THE PROJECT

A library
for security
researchers.

Ciphers Security is an independent, practitioner-written cybersecurity publication. We cover daily breach reporting, CVE deep-dives, malware analyses, threat-actor campaigns, and hands-on hacking tutorials — written for the analysts, defenders, and learners who actually do the work.

What we cover

Four areas drive everything we publish:

  • News — same-day reporting on breaches, CVE disclosures, ransomware campaigns, and threat-actor activity. Sourced from official advisories (CISA, NIST, vendor PSIRTs), primary research, and verified threat-intel feeds.
  • Research — long-form analyses of malware families, attack chains, defensive runbooks, and CVE technical breakdowns. Updated as the threat landscape evolves.
  • THM Walkthroughs — structured walkthroughs of TryHackMe rooms covering networking, exploitation, forensics, and certification prep paths.
  • Tools & Tutorials — practitioner guides for the tools you actually use: Nmap, Burp Suite, Metasploit, Yara, Wireshark, Splunk, and the broader Linux/Windows offensive and defensive toolchain.

How we work

Every post is hand-written and editor-reviewed before publishing. We don’t run AI-generated content. We don’t republish wire stories. We don’t sensationalise.

When we cover a CVE, we link to the official advisory, the vendor patch notes, and the detection rules. When we cover a breach, we cite the disclosing party and the response actions. When we cover a tool, we test it ourselves first.

Posts are kept current. If an exploitation status changes, a patch ships, or new IOCs surface, we update the original article and bump the “last updated” timestamp — not republish under a new URL.

Independence

We’re not sponsored by any vendor. Display ads (Google AdSense) and affiliate links to learning platforms (TryHackMe, HackTheBox) are clearly disclosed and never influence editorial coverage. If we recommend a tool, it’s because we use it — not because someone paid us to mention it.

Who we are

Ciphers Security is run by Team Ciphers Security — a small editorial team of practitioners working across SOC operations, threat intelligence, and security research. We publish under a team byline rather than individual names because the goal is reliable coverage, not personal brand.

Founded in 2021. Based in India. Read globally.
